Benjamin Yudkoff, MD, MA
Dr. Yudkoff is a board-certified psychiatrist who provides the most up-to-date psychiatric care to people managing illnesses that have not satisfactorily resolved with treatment as usual, and in a way which honors principles of autonomy, self-direction, and holistic approaches. He has lectured on spirituality and ketamine, is an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and has taught a humanism course to residents of the Harvard Brigham and Women’s Hospital Residency Training Program. Dr. Yudkoff has served as the Medical Director of the Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital and the Medical Director of the Interventional Psychiatric Service (electroconvulsive therapy, ketamine, and esketamine). Dr. Yudkoff has published scientific articles on ketamine and psychopharmacology, and has won several teaching awards from Harvard Medical School students and Brigham and Women’s Psychiatric Residents.
Matthew Mosquera, MD, MS
Dr. Mosquera provides patient-centered psychiatric care for treatment-resistant conditions, emphasizing the mind-body connection, personal empowerment, and holistic healing. A Harvard-trained psychiatrist board-certified in general and addiction psychiatry, he treats depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders. Skilled in CBT, MET, and psychopharmacology, he serves on the Harvard Medical School faculty and as a physician educator in multiple training programs. A former medical director at McLean Hospital, he’s published on physician well-being, medical student stress. He completed medical school at Northwestern and a master’s in complementary and alternative medicine at Georgetown, gaining expertise in mindfulness, breathwork, nutraceuticals, meditation.
Aakash Sathappan, MD
Dr. Sathappan is a Harvard-trained, board-certified psychiatrist who also practices at Boston Children’s Hospital. With expertise in both pediatric and adult psychiatry, he treats individuals across the lifespan, focusing on interventional approaches for treatment-resistant conditions. He has specialized training in ketamine, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). Dr. Sathappan authored the first-ever guidelines for informed consent for ketamine in adolescents with treatment-resistant depression, a key clinical interest. He enjoys integrating breathwork, meditation, and various therapeutic modalities into his treatment approach. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he serves as a course director for Harvard psychiatry fellows and is on the faculty at Harvard Medical School.
Elizabeth Biondo, BSN, RN
Liz is a passionate psychiatric nurse with prior experience in addiction detox services and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) at McLean hospital. With a compassionate and holistic approach, Liz strives to provide support to patients through their mental health treatment, helping patients regain stability and improve their quality of life. Liz is committed to delivering empathetic, evidence-based care to those navigating the complexities of psychiatric treatment. She is also certified in BLS/First Aid and Crisis Prevention/DeEscalation. Liz completed her BSN at Simmons University and in her free time enjoys crocheting, painting and going for walks.
Taylor Brodersen, RN
Taylor is a compassionate and dedicated registered nurse with extensive experience in mental health care. She has worked in a variety of different psychiatric settings, providing high-quality care to diverse patient populations. Taylor earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications at Keene State College before pursuing her nursing education at MGH Institute of Health Professions. Outside of work, Taylor enjoys exploring new restaurants with friends and her significant other, attending live music events, and spending quality time with her senior rescue dog, Lily.
Madison Chau, MSW
Madison is a Social Worker with a background in outpatient community mental health. Madison received her Master’s of Social Work along with her Master’s of Divinity from Boston University, where she specialized in trauma and violence. She is particularly interested in the intersection of spirituality and mental health and has training in spirituality-integrated psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness interventions, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and Skill Training in Affective Regulation (STAIR). She is particularly passionate about Asian American and LGBTQ mental health, and she brings a depth-oriented, strengths-based, and culturally-sensitive approach to her work. Outside of work, she loves to read, write, and play pickleball.
Alison Choate, RN
Alison Choate is a dedicated Registered Nurse with a background in mental health care focusing on overall wellness. Prior to working in mental health, Alison worked in an inpatient medical setting providing nursing care for patients with complex needs. Holding a BSN from University of Massachusetts Amherst, Alison is also certified in BLS, First Aid and Crisis Prevention. Passionate about continuous learning and professional development, Alison actively participates in the Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society's Novice Nurse Leader program. Outside of work, Alison enjoys riding horses, creating art, and playing with her two cats.
Rosie Cohen, Mental Health Counselor
Rosie joins Lumin as a Mental Health Counselor with a range of clinical experiences in inpatient and outpatient therapy settings. After earning her Masters in Holistic Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Salve Regina University, Rosie practiced strengths-based and trauma-informed care for adolescent youth in the Franciscan Children’s Inpatient Psychiatric Program. In the outpatient setting, Rosie has explored farm-based therapy, expressive arts therapy and trauma-informed somatic therapy practices to support clients’ innate capacity for healing. She brings a grounded and compassionate approach to her work, helping clients navigate life’s challenges by uncovering their inner strengths. Outside of work, Rosie enjoys rock climbing, crafting and spending time with friends and family.
Terrin Gathers, PMHNP
Terrin is a trauma-informed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who serves marginalized individuals, emphasizing informed consent, patient autonomy, and disability justice. Their career includes roles at Boston Health Care for the Homeless as an intern and nurse, research assistant at Partners In Health during the Ebola epidemic, inpatient charge nurse, and helping establish the DEI Office at McLean Hospital. After earning their MSN, Terrin served as an NP at Eliot Community Human Services, strengthening therapeutic relationships with LGBTQIA+ clients. They also co-founded Black Lotus, a healing justice collective, and taught meditation.
Katherine Lee, PMHNP, FNP
Kat is a dual certified family and psychiatric nurse practitioner with a diverse clinical background. Her experience ranges from inpatient, outpatient, PHP, and residential program settings within addiction medicine, behavioral health, neurotherapeutics (ECT/TMS) and aesthetics. As a PMHNP, Kat provided holistic care to patients and their families learning to cope with anxiety, OCD and related disorders. Her approach emphasizes shared decision making in using pharmacologic options to make space for meaningful behavioral, cognitive, and lifestyle changes. Outside of work, Kat dances with a professional adult female hip hop team and spends time with her family including their chiweenie Maggie.
James "Matt" Neal, PMHNP
Matt is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience in psychiatry and mental health. He strives to create a safe, warm, and inclusive environment where patients feel heard, understood, and valued. He approaches care from a holistic, patient-centered perspective, partnering with each person to help achieve the specific goals and outcomes they desire.
Sabrina Nebiye, RN
Sabrina Nebiye is a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse with a passion for supporting mental health across diverse populations. Her experience spans adult inpatient psychiatric settings and adolescent partial hospitalization programs, giving her a well-rounded understanding of mental health care across the lifespan. Before earning her BSN from Northeastern University, Sabrina worked as a mental health specialist , where she developed a strong foundation in patient-centered care. She is deeply committed to creating safe and nurturing environments where her patients feel empowered to heal and thrive. Outside of work, Sabrina enjoys spending time with her family and her cat, Momo, exploring new destinations, and reading.
Elaura Patton, PA-C, MA
Elaura is a Physician Assistant with a background in neuropsychiatric pharmaceuticals and clinical Emergency Medicine. Her diverse experience gave her a deep understanding of healthcare’s complexities and the importance of empathetic care. As a Medical Science Liaison, she specialized in the bi-directional exchange of scientific data for start-up biotechnology and public benefit corporations, including psychedelics and the FDA application for MDMA-assisted psychotherapy. With eight years in frenetic Emergency Medicine at Harvard-affiliated Mass General Hospital, she now enjoys the change of pace at Lumin, striving to reinforce kindness and connection in patient care.
Tessa Rockwell, RN
Tessa is a Registered Nurse with a diverse background in crisis work, addiction medicine, inpatient psychiatry, and antepartum/postpartum care. She is passionate about delivering patient-centered, trauma-informed care, with a focus on the mind-body connection to promote holistic healing. Her empathetic approach fosters trust and support, creating a safe environment for patients to heal and thrive. Outside of work, she enjoys knitting, hiking with her dog, and practicing pilates.
Jonah Shifrin
Jonah is a Medical Assistant and Patient Liaison with a background in neuropsychology, music, and spirituality. Using his own journey with depression and esketamine, Jonah guides patient care using shared experiences and an empathic lens. His hope is that ketamine-based treatment can help patients rediscover their capacity to connect with themselves, their loved ones, and the world.
Kandace Small, RN
Kandace joins the Lumin Health team as a Registered Nurse with diverse experience across many levels of care, including addiction medicine, medication-assisted treatment programs, inpatient psychiatric care, and community crisis stabilization. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Framingham State University before completing her accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Curry College. Kandace is dedicated to providing trauma-informed, person-centered care grounded in unconditional positive regard. She supports individuals on their journeys by promoting autonomy and using evidence-based approaches to support wellness. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, public advocacy, and spending time with her two cats, Echo and Zulu.
Sahana Heiderscheidt
Sahana has joined Lumin Health as the Intake Coordinator and Patient Concierge. With a diverse background spanning customer service, client management, and operations in industries such as financial services, fitness, and skincare, Sahana brings a blend of warmth and operational efficiency to the intake process. Holding a degree in Psychology and an MBA from Boston College, Sahana is excited about guiding patients through the beginning stages of their Lumin care journey while optimizing processes. Outside of work, Sahana enjoys spending time outdoors and with family in New Hampshire.
Jess Mahoney
Jess, our Office Manager at Lumin Newton, brings both expertise and empathy to her role. With 5 years experience in medical office administration, she has honed her skills in patient relations, staff coordination, and office organization. Her dedication to creating a welcoming and sympathetic environment helps our team provide the highest level of support to our patients. She firmly believes in the importance of mental wellness and is committed to supporting those in need both professionally and personally. Outside of work, Jess enjoys reading, yoga, and spending time on the coast of Maine with her family.
Sarojini Schutt
Sarojini is the Office Manager in Lumin Health's Cambridge location. She applies her organizational skill set and trauma-informed lens to Lumin's overall productivity. Sarojini has her Bachelor of Arts in Peace Studies and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Goucher College, and her Master’s in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence from Brandeis University. Sarojini deeply believes there is vast power in utilizing a trauma-informed lens to foster safety and compassion for all, ultimately ensuring a world allowing all to thrive. In Sarojini’s free time, you can find her reading, hiking with her dog Gracie, or hanging out with her friends and family!
Diane Tuohy
Diane, our Senior Manager of Clinical Operations, brings over 18 years of experience in medical administration, with a strong commitment to both patient care and compassion. Her leadership and innovation in mental health treatments are evident in her role in developing the first outpatient Ketamine and Esketamine (Spravato) practices at Mass General Brigham, in collaboration with Dr. Yudkoff. Outside of her professional achievements, Diane enjoys spending time with her family and volunteers at a farm sanctuary in Sherborn, MA.
